About Neskowin

Neskowin is well known for its beautiful beach and surrounding setting of forested and rolling hills. The beach stretches from the mouth of the Little Nestucca River in the north, to the rugged and dramatic cliffs of Cascade Head to the South. These are five miles of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! Neskowin Village was developed during the 1920s and 1930s when the golf course and family beach homes were built. The village was flanked on either side by Neskowin Creek and Hawk Creek as they enter the ocean at beautiful Proposal Rock.

Neskowin is a beautiful place on the scenic Oregon coast.

One woman described Neskowin as "Our own little Norman Rockwell painting." This coastal town in south Tillamook county looks like it could have come from one of the painter's famous images that captured Americana. Neskowin is a throw-back, a town that holds to Oregon's roots when families flocked to the coast and spent the summer frolicking on the sand and surf. Picket fences surround cottages built decades ago. Cars yield to kids on bikes, and dogs nap in the street.

The focus here is on the beach and family. There are approximately 450 homes and 150 condominium units, with a full time population of approximately 300, swelling to approximately 1500 in the summer months. Schooling is one of the greatest assets that Neskowin has. Neskowin Valley School is a private school catering to the kindergarten through eighth grades. The reputation of the school stretches from coast to coast and many families have chosen to move to this area because of the opportunities that the school offers to our children. Public schools are also available in nearby Cloverdale. Nestucca High has achievements, pupils, and teachers to be proud of.

There is a library in Pacific City and the Bookmobile serves Neskowin every second week. Lincoln City, only 15 minutes away, has the closest hospital with full emergency facilities including life flight capabilities to the Portland area hospitals. Many doctors’ offices are located in Lincoln City, covering a variety of specialties.

Dawn Barker has 18 years experience on the Oregon Coast, specializing in the scenic Neskowin and Pacific City areas. She has represented both million dollar properties and $20,000 lots. Her concerns are environmental and wildlife habitat issues which impact the quality of life on the Central Oregon Coast.
